Experience Description
August 2021, I was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. On October 4, 2021, I had a heart procedure called cardiac alcohol ablation. The procedure involved going through the groin area up into my lower left ventricle to inject 98% alcohol into the tissue inside my heart, burning it to thin the tissue so my heart could beat normally. Afterward, my cardiologist said the procedure was successful, and I went into recovery and fell asleep.
While sleeping, I began to float through a dark tunnel and into space. I saw the stars pass through me, and it felt like I was part of where I was. I felt a peace and love like no other. It had to be God’s peace and love. It was so beautiful, something you could never feel on earth, only in the spiritual realm. When I was sent back to my body, it was the grossest feeling I’ve ever experienced from a spiritual standpoint. I say 'gross' because of the sinful nature of being a sinner.
That experience taught me I was killing myself in two ways: physically deteriorating and spiritually decaying. Now, at the end of each day, I repent and pray for the sins I committed. This was an eye-opener. People need to understand that the body is a temple, and the only things that should reside in it are your soul and the spirit of the Creator.
