Experience Description
I remember suddenly finding myself standing on cool, wet grass. It felt wonderful between my toes. I wriggled them, grinning at the simple joy of it. That’s when I noticed I was wearing my Grandpaw’s T-shirt, or at least, that’s what I thought. The oversized white fabric reached all the way to my feet, and I was barefoot with my toes exposed.
Looking up and around, I was struck by how astonishingly clear everything appeared. I saw trees lining a river on both sides, its waters spilling from a waterfall cascading down rocky cliffs. The river was so transparent that calling it "clear as glass" wouldn’t do it justice because that description would make what I saw seem murky by comparison.
Then I realized I was holding a man’s finger; the way a small child clings to their father’s hand while walking. He sat down beside me. His face was a brilliance beyond description. It was so bright that it was like seeing the flash of an arc welder, but without blinding me. Though I couldn’t see his features, I knew, without a doubt, that he loved me because I felt it.
Then he spoke, telling me it was time to go back.
I didn’t want to go as I wanted to stay with him forever. Everything in that place was good, peaceful, overflowing with joy. But he insisted that it was time.
The next thing I knew, I was being carried on a nurse’s shoulder, walking down a hallway. I was leaving the light behind, but I wasn’t afraid.
That was the last memory I had of the experience. For most of my life, I thought it had been nothing more than a dream. Then, on her deathbed, my mother told me the truth. She explained that as a baby, I had died in my crib. When she and my father checked on me before going to bed, they found me cold and blue. They rushed me to the hospital, where the doctors took over.
Only when she told me did everything fall into place. It hadn’t been a dream as it had actually happened.

Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience, I was a baby; most things came to me as I got older.

I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin, It was Jesus. I was holding his hand and it felt good to be there with him.

Yes, Jesus was a tall figure, shining, with no discernible skin color.

I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience, I can still see the glassy river and where it came from. I could see the trees. I remember holding onto Jesus' finger and the feeling of cool grass between my toes.
