Experience Description

I was thirteen years old and sickly from asthma. Asthma attacks would hit me so hard that I would throw up. I had recently had my tonsils and adenoids removed and got sick again while I was recovering. I was on steroids at this time, pills and shots, so much that I felt like I was turning into a man. I gained weight, got black body hair, and acne. Because of these steroids, it messed with my sleep. So many nights, I would lie awake and wish to just sleep already. One night I was finally asleep, and this is when my experience happened, and I do not think I died. All of a sudden, I awoke. I was still in my bedroom, in my bed. The room was very bright, and it felt extremely peaceful. It was so peaceful that it was like I could feel angels around me. There was someone spooning me; we were both in the fetal position. It was my deceased maternal grandfather who had been dead for eight years. I have no idea how I knew it was him, I just did. There were no words spoken aloud, but telepathically. He kept saying, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," and that "everything will be ok." Now, in real life, this would not have been okay because he was the family pedophile. While he never molested me, he did molest most of my aunts, uncles, and cousins, and even my mom. He was a disgusting person, and my mom made sure he was never alone with us kids. During the event, I was never scared at all. It was very peaceful. It seems to have lasted twenty or so minutes if I had to guess. When I woke the next morning I told my mom about it. It was creepy as I spoke about it only because of my grandfather being a pedophile; everything else was blissful. My mom went to some sort of psychic lady and told her what happened. She told her if I did not want these things to happen, to just let God or whoever know to stop, so I did. She also got this crystal to hang between our front and back door to "keep the spirits away." Afterwards, I definitely felt different, knowing this type of event does not happen to everyone. Oddly, I have never been sick again with the asthma that plagued my life for thirteen years. I chalked it up to taking out my tonsils, but I am really not sure what to think. I have had other things happen and I always fight it and ask whoever it is to stop and that I do not want this gift. For instance, age twenty, I was coming home one very late night and passed a really bad wreck, one where I could just feel that someone had died. I got home, went to sleep, then woke a few hours later and the person who had just died in that wreck was standing in my room looking at me. It was not peaceful to me, it was quite scary, and I closed my eyes and told them that they died and need to go, they cannot stay here. So again I told God or whoever that I am not interested in being someone that has this gift.
