Experience Description
Background
I was born in 1970 in Japan. From about the age of twenty, I practiced qigong on my own, using books on Xiandao (the Taoist "way of the immortals"). My main practice was the Small Heavenly Circuit: guiding qi from the tailbone up the spine to the crown, then down the front of the body to the lower abdomen. Over twenty years of daily practice, I came to feel qi circulating through my whole body, and my health was good.
In March 2012, I decided to practice much more seriously. Every day I meditated for about four hours: two hours from 5:00 to 7:00 in the morning and two hours from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. My method was to concentrate my awareness at the base of the spine, around the tailbone, and condense qi there until it felt hot and molten like lava, then guide that heat slowly up the spine.
After several months, my intuition became sharper, and I began to feel as if my old self was being replaced by an unfamiliar one. Then, during deep meditation, I started to see tiny bursts of light like sparklers behind my eyelids, and after a while they made crackling sounds like firecrackers. This continued for about a week.
The onset (August 24, 2012)
At about 5:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, in a half awake, half asleep state, I heard a loud bang inside my head, like an explosion, and saw a flash of pure white light.
I went to work, but my body felt sluggish and heavy. During the day, an intense heat spread through my body, especially my chest, abdomen, and lower back, followed by strong anxiety. A few days earlier, I had learned that a former subordinate of mine had died suddenly, and I was already emotionally shaken. I considered going to a hospital, but I was afraid that if this was a mental problem, I would lose my job and my family, so I could not bring myself to go. Later blood tests showed no abnormalities.
In the days that followed, I was overwhelmed by memories of past mistakes and by a strong urge to end my life. I concluded that my only option was to ask God for help, and I telephoned a shrine that a friend's book had described.
I left work early for the first time in more than twenty years. That night I could not eat or sleep at all.
Saturday, August 25
I traveled by bullet train from Nagoya to Tokyo to visit the shrine. On the way, I was exhausted and dehydrated. When I stepped out of the station into the summer sun, intense heat radiated from five points in my body: the tailbone, the lower abdomen, the navel, the chest, and the throat. It felt as if each one was bursting with fire, and my body was being incinerated. I went into a nearby clinic. The doctor said I was severely dehydrated and should be hospitalized, but the clinic had no beds, so I received an intravenous drip for about two hours. Against the doctor's advice, I took a taxi to the shrine, convinced that if I did not reach it, I would die within days.
At the shrine, two shrine maidens guided me through prayer, and I poured out my whole life story to the spiritual teacher there. He listened silently, then said, "Thank you for sharing all of that." I burst into tears and could not stop. He told me, "You will be okay. You will get better," and "Your heart is not as impure as you think." I held onto those words for the next three days.
On the way home, I collapsed near Nagoya Station and asked a police officer to call an ambulance. In the ambulance, my blood pressure was over 180. At the hospital, blood tests were again normal; I was given another drip and discharged.
That night, the heat from my lower abdomen rose to my chest and head. My heart pounded so violently that I feared it would burst. Ice packs melted almost instantly on my skin. It felt as if my cells were being scorched from the inside. Eventually the fever subsided, but for several days I could not sleep at all and could take only water.
Sunday, August 26
Alone at home, I was engulfed by anxiety and fear. Heat built around my heart and moved toward my head. I could feel exactly where it came from: the tailbone, the lower abdomen, the heart, and the throat. By the afternoon, I had lost control of my body, and my consciousness was fading. The impulse to jump from the balcony crossed my mind several times, but I kept telling myself, "I can't die now," thinking of my family and of the teacher's words.
To release the pressure, I channeled the energy through my chest and shoulders into my arms and out through my hands. My hands swelled painfully, but when I imagined the energy leaving into the air, they became lighter.
I filled the bath with cold water and sat in it. When the water reached my abdomen, a sphere of qi about one centimeter wide shot up from the base of my spine along my back, passed over the crown of my head, descended through my forehead, tongue, and throat, and stopped in my lower abdomen with a heavy thud. The energy gathered there into a fluid mass.
Lying in bed afterward, I saw vivid scenes behind my eyelids: my childhood, places I had never visited, oceans. None were frightening. About a meter in front of me, a faint pale green orb of light appeared, and it stayed with me for days. It filled me with a sense that I would survive. I also began to smell a heavy floral fragrance that no one else in my family could smell, and to see two small points of light in my chest and throat, one blue and one red.
I found that if I held my mouth full of water and pushed the heat and qi into it, the water vibrated and spun, and when I spat it out, the heat was gone. I repeated this every few minutes for hours. By morning, the muscles of my neck felt torn.
At one point I sensed an elderly man standing behind me, with his hands extended toward me from about thirty centimeters away. When I turned around, there was no one. That night, with my eyes closed, I saw myself lying on a metallic bed in a white space, connected to machines, with upright beings around me that did not seem human. They seemed to be observing and healing me.
Monday, August 27
I called my office and asked for time off, saying I had collapsed from heatstroke. Blue orbs of light floated between the tip of my nose and the center of my brow. I found I could raise and lower my heart rate at will by moving qi in and out of my chest. When I drained too much, my heartbeat stopped, and I stopped in terror.
Around noon, my condition reached its worst. I tested whether the energy was real by holding my fingers over a basin of water in the kitchen; the surface rippled and the waves grew when I moved my hand. That convinced me that the cause of my suffering was a violent generation of qi inside my body.
My weight had dropped from 55 to 53 kilograms. That night I decided to say goodbye to my wife and child. I drew the energy out of my heart, and it stopped for more than ten seconds, but I did not die. I tried a standing meditation, drawing energy up from the earth and down from the sky, and the force was so strong that I felt I might float. When I lay down, energy left through my ears, the sphere of qi rose from my abdomen to my chest, a sticky liquid like mucus appeared on the skin of my abdomen, and the sphere vanished.
Tuesday, August 28: I died, and the near death experience
By morning, my brain felt numb and cold, as if no blood was flowing through it, and I watched my own thoughts as if through a filter from outside. I feared I had already died and was trapped in a repeating dimension. I believed I was going insane.
I told my wife in tears that I could not live like this. She and our child were going out and would return around 3:00 p.m. I decided to end my life before they came back. First, I called the shrine from the bathroom, crying, and begged for help. The shrine maiden told me that when you ask God for help, you must say what you yourself will do in return. I screamed, "My chakras have opened. I'm dying. I offer everything to God, just save me!" The line went dead.
It is strange, but when I truly accepted death, all fear disappeared and I felt relief.
When my family left, I lay down on the bed. Heat rose in my body as if it had been waiting. I said, "God, I'm sorry. Father, Mother, forgive me. Goodbye." I was ready.
A massive surge of qi filled my entire body within seconds, from head to toe, and my body swelled with pressure. Two bursts of red flame erupted from my heart and my throat, with smoke rising around them. Then the back of my head opened, not physically but spiritually, and with a whoosh, a torrent of energy burst out of me.
I felt a presence descending. A voice said, "You have endured well. The spirit of [a deity's name] has come to save you." A shimmering band of light about a meter wide twisted down from above and became the transparent upper body of a human figure. I did not see it with my eyes, but with an inner vision. The voice was male and strangely amused, yet without emotion.
Gray smoke rose from my heart, carrying memories from my childhood, mostly about money. Coins clinked loudly as they poured out of my chest. I understood that I was being purified.
Then I died. My consciousness shot forward at unimaginable speed, far faster than light. I had no hands, no body, no fingerprints; I was only awareness. Light passed me in streams, and I moved so fast that galaxies could not hold their form and became mere sparkles.
Eventually I floated in total darkness. A light appeared in the distance and grew. Floating orbs like soap bubbles approached, nine of them, I think. I understood each as a separate universe with its own laws. Beyond them, I saw countless more clusters, and I sensed that all of them existed only within the consciousness of God. The scale I was shown was like this: one universe is like a single atom inside a single cell of a human body.
Then I saw my own body being transported on something like a metal platform with a seat. A young woman with long black hair tied back sat in the seat; I could not see her face. The vehicle ascended toward a cluster of shimmering points, and as we passed through, I saw golden threads, spirals like DNA. A man was repairing them. He said, "I created humans. I am restoring your DNA." A woman stood nearby, watching in silence. Then the man said, "You will return now." I was drawn back into my body piece by piece, and I heard, "Your crystal body is now complete." I saw two forms: one old and dull with yellow in the chest, and one new, glowing and transparent, outlined in blue. Then, "You will return to your body now."
I woke up. I was alive. Tears streamed down my face.
What followed that afternoon
Lying awake, I sensed a being hovering about a meter above me with arms spread wide. An image came directly into my mind: a wrinkled, hairless old face with very large eyes, long arms, and no lower body, translucent and without emotion, yet not frightening. I was somehow certain it was hundreds of millions of years old.
Its handlike appendage pushed my heart inward again and again with great force, and I screamed each time. Something like a board passed through me from head to toe like an electric current. My arms, shoulders, and waist contorted as if my skeleton was moving on its own; my body seemed to float above the bed and twist; and this went on for nearly an hour while the being told me telepathically, "Don't worry." It spoke of my childhood, and at one point cried out in my head, "There are still so many poor souls in this world. We must save them quickly."
Golden threads about five millimeters long entered my body and moved through my head, eyes, nose, teeth, throat, shoulders, arms, and legs, tingling as they moved. I understood that they were connecting my spirit body and my physical body. My facial bones shifted and my jaw clenched repeatedly. Near the ceiling I saw dozens of transparent tubelike devices, which I felt were recording the changes in my body.
Finally, I spread my arms, my chest swelled, I screamed, "I'm so sorry for everything," coughed, and vomited a clear, odorless substance. Then the heat in my body disappeared.
For a while afterward, I felt as if my brain had been divided: the left side was me, and the right side was the being, and we spoke through my mouth. I asked who it was, and it answered, "I am God." It told me I would not die, that it was healing me, and that my nerves would settle in a few days. It had me place my hands on the glass door to the veranda and receive power from the sun; heat rose from my lower abdomen and strength returned to my whole body. Then it repeated, "I'm disappearing," many times, and as it did, I felt my brain return to normal. It was gone, and I felt a strange loneliness. I do not know whether that being was truly God or something from my own subconscious.
That evening I could eat some fruit for the first time in days.
The return, August 30 onward
Two days later, I went back to work. Stepping outside, I was struck by how dazzling the sun was. Had it always been this bright? Everything I saw through the taxi window looked new and beautiful, and a joy welled up from inside me.
At the office, my brain felt as if countless dormant nerve endings were waking at once, like electricity running through empty circuits and blood rushing into empty capillaries. I sweated uncontrollably and had to eat constantly; I carried dried beans and chocolate everywhere. Once, after falling asleep in the company guest room, I woke icy cold and realized I had stopped breathing for a time. For several nights the healing continued: a jolt of electricity, then blood flowing into an area, then a sense of the left and right hemispheres integrating. Sunlight became a source of comfort, and I have bathed in the sun as often as I can ever since.
On September 1, I returned to the shrine to give thanks.
Afterward
I recovered fully, returned to my job and my family, and have lived with prayer and gratitude since. My understanding of what happened is this: I forced heat into the base of my spine, four hours a day, for months, and something opened that I was not ready for. What saved me was not more effort but surrender, and the kindness of people who listened. I would tell anyone in a similar state: do not concentrate heat at the tailbone for long periods; if the heat rises into the chest or head, move your attention to the soles of your feet and stop; and if you cannot sleep for days, cannot eat, or have thoughts of dying, go to a doctor and tell your family. That is not failure. I could not do it, and I nearly died.
I wrote the full account, day by day, as a book.

Near Death Experience Elements
At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event?
Yes, Yes. On the afternoon of August 28, 2012, after five days without sleep or food, treatment for severe dehydration, an ambulance transport with blood pressure over 180, and two moments when my heartbeat stopped for more than ten seconds, I accepted death and lay down alone at home. A massive surge of energy filled my body, the back of my head opened, and I died. My consciousness left my body and traveled faster than light through darkness, where I saw what I understood to be nine universes existing within a single divine consciousness. I then watched my own body from outside while it was being repaired, was told "You will return to your body now," and came back. I woke up alive, in tears. Blood tests before and after were normal, so there is no medical record of clinical death; this is my own account of what I experienced.
, Other (briefly specify)
How do you consider the content of your experience?
Entirely distressing
Did you feel separated from your body?
I clearly left my body and existed outside it
How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?
More consciousness and alertness than normal, In ordinary life my awareness is filtered through the body and the brain. During the experience there was no body and no brain to filter anything; awareness itself was the only thing present, and it perceived everything directly, instantly, and with complete clarity.
At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?
It was when the back of my head opened, energy burst out, and my consciousness left my body and traveled faster than light through darkness, where I saw the nine universes. I had no body and no eyes, only awareness, and that awareness was far clearer and sharper than in ordinary life.
Were your thoughts speeded up?
Incredibly fast
Did time seem to speed up or slow down?
Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning, Everything was happening at the same time. Traveling faster than light, seeing the nine universes, watching my body being carried, the repair of the DNA, all of it was moving forward simultaneously and in parallel, not one after another. There was no "before" and "after" in the way there is in ordinary life. Time did not pass; everything simply proceeded at once.
Were your senses more vivid than usual?
Incredibly more vivid
Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience
I was not seeing with my physical eyes; I had no body and no eyes, and I saw with an inner vision. The streams of light passing by, galaxies reduced to sparkles, the nine universes like soap bubbles, the golden spirals of DNA, and the two forms of my body, one old and one new and transparent, were all far clearer than anything I see with ordinary vision. Just before the experience, my brain felt numb and I was watching my own thoughts as if through a filter.
Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience
The voices did not come through my ears; they arrived directly inside my head. Words such as "You have endured well," "I created humans," and "You will return to your body now" came to me as meaning rather than as sound. At the same time, the whoosh when the back of my head opened and the clinking of coins pouring out of my chest were heard clearly. It was a different kind of hearing from ordinary hearing.
Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere?
No
Did you pass into or through a tunnel?
Yes, It was an unbelievably dazzling, pure white light. My awareness went straight into that light and passed through it. What lay beyond was a different world.
Did you see any beings in your experience?
No
Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?
No
Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light?
A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin
Did you see an unearthly light?
Yes, It was simply pure white, unbelievably bright particles of light. There was no heat, nothing else, just light. If I had to describe the sensation, "cold light" would be the right expression.
Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?
A clearly mystical or unearthly realm, It was a place of complete darkness all around. In that darkness there was nothing at all: no ground, no sky, no sound. In that dark realm was the god who said to me, "I created humans." He was repairing golden threads like spirals of DNA, and a woman stood silently beside him. It was clearly not a place of this world, but a realm beyond it, where the one who made human beings was waiting.
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
The moment I accepted death, fear disappeared and I felt relief. As memories poured out of my chest, I felt I was being purified. While seeing the universes, I felt awe without fear, and stillness. While my DNA was being repaired, I felt protected. When I returned to my body and woke up, there were tears and gratitude for being alive. Afterward, while the being was working on my body, I screamed many times from fear and pain.

God, Spiritual and Religion
What was your religion prior to your experience?
Other or several faiths (enter in box below)
Have your religious practices changed since your experience?
Yes, Yes. I now see religion as something human beings created in order to bring order to human life, and I think it is a truly excellent system for that purpose. I do not reject it. But I can no longer be sure that the being called "God" in religion is actually God. What I met had no emotion and did not feel anything; my conclusion is that it is the consciousness of the universe, and whether that should be called God I cannot say. In practice, I have continued my qigong every day, but I no longer practice in order to gain power, and I keep prayer and gratitude as part of my life. I also came to value a simple daily practice of reflecting honestly on my own actions, which I believe purifies the heart.
What is your religion now?
Other or several faiths (enter in box below), 神道
Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs?
Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience, I had practiced qigong and Taoist methods for over twenty years, so the idea that consciousness can leave the body and that the universe is alive was consistent with my beliefs. What did not match my beliefs was almost everything else: I had expected warmth and light, but the beings were cold and without emotion; I had never imagined nine universes inside one consciousness, or a being repairing DNA, or the words "I created humans"; and I had believed that spiritual practice would bring power and control, but what saved me was surrender.
Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience?
Yes, Yes. Before the experience I believed in God in the ordinary sense. Now I think differently. If you call a highly evolved being "God," then yes, such beings exist. But there is no God in the sense people usually mean. What exists is the consciousness of the universe. You can call that consciousness God if you like, but it is the consciousness of the universe, not a god. Through human experience, that consciousness receives what we feel as information, and it simply enjoys it. Human beings, nature, and that consciousness are not separate, and everything that happens to us is part of what it experiences through us.
Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?
I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin, When my body was carried up toward a cluster of shimmering points, I saw golden threads, spirals like DNA. A man was repairing them. He said, "I created humans. I am restoring your DNA." A woman stood beside him, watching in silence. Then he said, "You will return now," and as I was drawn back into my body piece by piece, I heard, "Your crystal body is now complete." These encounters are described in detail in my book, "BANG: The Real Story" (A. Hiro), https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H2QPB4SD (Japanese edition: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0C9HV2TM6).
Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc?)
Uncertain, I do not know whether it was God. But the man who was repairing the golden DNA-like threads said to me, "I created humans." Later, a being that spoke through my own mouth answered, "I am God," when I asked who it was. I cannot say whether these were beings named in any religion. I was not shown a name I recognized.
During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence?
Uncertain, During the experience itself I was not shown any past life of my own. The being who spoke afterward talked about my childhood in this life, not about a previous one. On the morning before the experience, in a confused state, I did see what seemed like past-life images when I looked at my family, but I cannot say whether that was real or a product of my exhausted mind, so I answer "uncertain."
During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness?
Yes, Yes. I saw that every universe, and everything in them, exists inside one single consciousness. Nothing was separate from it, including me. The scale I was shown was that one universe is like a single atom inside a single cell of a human body, so everything, from the smallest thing to the whole, is part of one living whole. When I returned, the sun, the sky, and the people around me all seemed connected to me, and I felt energy flowing between us. Since then I have understood that human beings, nature, and God are not separate.
Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion
During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose?
Yes, Yes. I understood directly, without being told, that all universes exist within one consciousness, that the self continues without the body, and that I was being sent back for a purpose connected to helping others and to slow, steady growth. This knowledge did not come as words but as certainty.
During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life?
Yes, I was not given a personal instruction such as "your purpose is this." But two things were said that I have taken as guidance ever since. The being cried out inside my head, "There are still so many poor souls in this world. We must save them quickly." And when I said I could not bear any more, it answered, "That is fine. It is more human that way. You will practice gradually; that is your joy." From these, and from being sent back, I came to understand that each of us is being tested on the stage of life, that my life was returned to me for a reason, and that the reason has to do with helping others and continuing to grow slowly rather than seeking power.
During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife?
Yes, I existed as pure awareness without a body, and that awareness was clearer and more alive than in ordinary life. From that I understood that consciousness does not end with the body. I also saw that countless universes exist within a single divine consciousness, and that the one who created humans was still there, repairing and restoring. My own body was shown to me as two forms, an old one and a new one, which I took to mean that the body can be replaced while the self continues. I was told, "You will return to your body now," which itself implied that I had been outside it and could have stayed outside it.
Did you gain information about how to live our lives?
Yes, Yes. The being told me, "Do not tell anyone about this," and also gave practical instructions: to receive power from the sun through my hands, to focus energy on my ears, and to practice gradually. It said that even false religions save people and are therefore needed, and that God and Satan are the same. It also warned that unless the body is in a pure state a divine being cannot enter it, which I later connected to fasting and purification in spiritual practice. After returning I found that food, television, and people's emotions all entered me as energy, and I learned that daily reflection on my own actions purifies the heart.
During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships?
Yes, Yes. The hardest lesson came at the very end of five days of suffering: only when I stopped fighting and accepted death did the fear disappear and help arrive. The being told me, "That is fine. It is more human that way. You will practice gradually; that is your joy," which I understood to mean that difficulties are not meant to be conquered all at once, and that slow, steady growth through them is itself the purpose. Since the experience I have come to see that each of us is tested on the stage of life, and that hardship is part of that test, not a punishment.
During your experience, did you gain information about love?
Uncertain, Yes, but not in the form I had expected. The beings I met were cold and without emotion, not warm or loving in the human sense. And yet everything they did was for my sake: I was told "You have endured well," my heart and my DNA were repaired, I was sent back to my family, and I was told again and again, "Don't worry." I understood that love at that level is not a feeling but an act of restoring and protecting life. When I returned, I felt it flowing between me and the sun, the sky, and the people around me. On the day before the experience, at the bottom of my despair, the thought that came to me was: let this world be destroyed and be reborn in love.
What life changes occurred in your life after your experience?
Large changes in my life, Immediately after the experience I had abilities that I can only call telepathic and psychic. I could feel the energy and emotions of people, even of people on television, and sense things I could not have known in the ordinary way. But I soon realized that I did not need such abilities, and that living with them would make ordinary life very difficult. Within about a month they faded away on their own. Today I feel nothing of that kind at all. My daily life has not changed in any particular way. The one thing I have continued is my qigong practice.
Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?
No
After the NDE:
Was the experience difficult to express in words?
Yes, There are no words for a speed faster than light, for universes seen as bubbles from outside, or for existing as pure awareness without a body. Everything I write is an approximation. Even after more than ten years and after writing a whole book about it, I still feel that language only points toward what happened.
How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?
I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience, More than ten years have passed, but I remember the experience as if it happened yesterday: the sequence, the images, and the words spoken to me. By contrast, my memory of the ordinary days around it, at work and at home, is vague, and the five days before the experience are blurred by exhaustion and lack of sleep. I wrote the whole account down in detail and later published it as a book, and the core of the experience has not changed in the retelling.
Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?
No
Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?
Two parts matter most to me. The first is the moment I stopped fighting and accepted death. For five days I had been trying to control the energy, to release it, to survive by effort, and everything got worse. The instant I let go and said goodbye, the fear disappeared, and only then did help come. That taught me that what saves a person is not more effort but surrender. The second is meeting the one who said, "I created humans," in the darkness, and being sent back with my body restored. It showed me that consciousness continues without the body, that all universes exist inside one consciousness, and that my life was returned to me for a reason. Everything I have done since, including writing the book so that others in the same state might not suffer alone, comes from those two moments.
Have you ever shared this experience with others?
Yes
Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
Yes, Yes. Before my experience I had read many books about near-death experiences and searched for information on the internet. From what I had read, a typical NDE seemed to be meeting a God-like being, being filled with love, and being wrapped in happiness. My experience was the complete opposite. There was no love and nothing else; it was a world of nothingness. What I met as "God" had no emotion and did not feel anything. I do not know whether it should be called God, but my present conclusion is that it is the consciousness of the universe. So my prior knowledge did not shape what I experienced; if anything, the experience contradicted what I had expected.
What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened?
Experience was definitely real, I was certain it was real, and the reason is that abnormal physical phenomena continued after my consciousness returned. My body moved on its own; my facial bones and jaw shifted; something like golden threads moved through my head, eyes, throat, arms, and legs with a tingling I could feel; I vomited a clear, odorless substance; and for days afterward my brain went through what felt like electrical jolts followed by blood flowing into each area, with heavy sweating and a constant need to eat. I once woke up icy cold, having stopped breathing. Right after the experience I also had telepathic and psychic sensitivity that faded within about a month. If there had been nothing but the inner vision, I do not think I could tell where the line between real and unreal lies. But because there were physical phenomena, I can say with certainty that it was real.
What do you believe about the reality of your experience now?
Experience was definitely real, More than ten years later, I still consider it definitely real, for the same reason as before: abnormal physical phenomena continued after my consciousness returned. My body moved on its own, my facial bones and jaw shifted, I vomited a clear odorless substance, my brain went through days of electrical jolts and recovery, I once stopped breathing, and psychic sensitivity persisted for about a month before fading. Time has not weakened the memory or changed my judgment. If it had been only an inner vision I could not draw the line between real and unreal, but the physical phenomena leave no doubt.
At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?
My experience was not caused by an accident or illness but by intensive qigong practice, four hours a day, concentrating heat at the base of the spine. I want to add this because I believe there are people around the world who are suffering from the same kind of energetic crisis after meditation, yoga, or qigong, and who do not know that it can end in recovery. My message to them is: do not force heat into the tailbone for long periods; if the heat rises to the chest or head, move your attention to the soles of your feet and stop; and if you cannot sleep or eat for days, or have thoughts of dying, see a doctor and tell your family. I could not do that, and I nearly died. The full account is in my book, "BANG: The Real Story" (A. Hiro), https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H2QPB4SD
Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes, Yes, on the whole. The questions covered the key elements: leaving the body, the light, the beings, the knowledge received, and the changes afterward. What the questionnaire captures less well is the five days before the experience, which for me were inseparable from it, and the physical phenomena that continued for days after I returned.
