Experience Description
On Friday, September 4, 2026, at around 7:00 in the morning, my friends and I were traveling to Kuakata on a double-decker sleeper coach operated by Iconic Express. We were all classmates and close friends from the 2002 to 2003 session of the Economics Department at Jagannath University.
Suddenly, near a place called Khalilpur on the Dhaka to Kuakata highway, the bus went out of control and plunged into a deep roadside pond. After the crash, teachers and students from a local madrasa rushed to the scene. They broke the bus windows and began rescuing the passengers trapped inside.
During the final moments of the rescue operation, I became trapped beneath a broken section of a bus window. I was pinned under the mud and water. It was pitch black beneath the surface, and I could not find a way out.
I struggled desperately underwater for what felt like a long time. Because I was trapped beneath the heavy structure of the bus, I could not reach the surface. At one point, my head became completely embedded in the thick mud, and I could no longer breathe.
I clearly sensed that I had only about two seconds left. After that, I believed I would suffocate and be gone forever.
At that moment, when my breath completely failed, a profound and boundless silence suddenly surrounded me. I could no longer hear any sounds from the world. It seemed as though all of my senses had stopped functioning.
In the midst of this extreme crisis, a miraculous light appeared. The face of my beloved nine-year-old son flashed before my eyes. Within that absolute stillness and deep silence, I experienced a strange and celestial realization. I felt that no chaos, turmoil, or worldly pain could touch me anymore. It seemed as though I had become a resident of an extraordinarily peaceful, motionless, and silent realm.
There was no physical agony and no fear of death. There was only a serene, deep, and tranquil silence.
I felt that this was the end. My breath was gone, and I believed I had reached the final moment of my life.
Then, somehow, I emerged from the muddy water. I had survived and had been given a new lease on life.

More consciousness and alertness than normal, At the moment when I realized that I could no longer breathe and had only a few seconds left, my awareness felt exceptionally clear and intense. Although I was physically trapped and unable to breathe, I was deeply aware of my surroundings, my situation, and the possibility of death. At the same time, I experienced an extraordinary sense of inner stillness and peace.

Large changes in my life, Since the experience, I have developed a deeper appreciation for life and for the people I love, especially my family. I had personally experienced it while trapped underwater, unable to breathe, and believing that I was only seconds away from death.
